Prismly — Privacy Policy

Prismly is a color-analysis app for iPhone that reads a selfie to find your color season and palette. This policy explains, in plain language, what Prismly does and does not do with your data. The short version: your photos never leave your device. The selfie you analyze and all of its color-analysis results are processed entirely on your iPhone using Apple's on-device Vision framework, nothing is uploaded, and there is no Prismly backend that receives your photos.

Your photos stay on your device

Prismly analyzes a selfie to determine your color season and palette — your skin tone, undertone, and the seasonal colors that suit you. All of this happens entirely on your device:

The selfie you choose or capture is analyzed on your iPhone using Apple's on-device Vision framework. Prismly reads skin tone and undertone locally to work out your color season and palette.
Your photo is never uploaded. There is no Prismly backend that receives your photos — no Prismly server sees, stores, or processes the selfie.
The color-analysis results — your season, palette, undertone, and any saved analysis — stay on your device.
When you pick a photo from your library, iOS's system photo picker shares only the one photo you choose. Prismly does not get access to the rest of your library.

Prismly has no backend of its own that receives your photos, and no advertising SDK. It does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across apps or websites.

Your content stays on device

This is the core promise of Prismly. The selfie you analyze and every result the app produces from it — your color season, palette, undertone, and any analysis you save — are kept on your device. Prismly's developer cannot see your photos. There is no separate Prismly server that receives, stores, or processes your selfie or your results. The analysis runs on-device with Apple's Vision framework, and nothing about the photo is sent to any server.

What data we handle and where it is stored

Analytics

Prismly uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the app is used (for example, that an analysis was started or that a result was viewed) so we can improve it. This is used only for aggregate product improvement. We never send Firebase your photos or your color-analysis results.

What it collects: anonymous product-interaction and usage events (e.g. analysis started, result viewed — never your photos or results), plus a per-install identifier (Apple's Identifier for Vendors, IDFV) and an app-generated random UUID. There is no advertising identifier (IDFA), no ad personalization, and no cross-app or cross-website tracking. We never sell your data, and we never send your photos.
Not linked to your identity: analytics is not linked to your real-world identity. We do not provide Firebase with your name, email, or Apple ID, and we never call setUserID.
Opting out: you can opt out by disabling analytics sharing at the operating-system level or by deleting the app. The data is used only for aggregate product improvement.
Google's role: Firebase's data handling is governed by Google's privacy policy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy and https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Data we do not collect

Prismly does not collect: your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, browsing or search history, health data, your photos, or any advertising/tracking identifiers.

Children

Prismly is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

Permissions

Camera: used to take a selfie for on-device color analysis. This is optional and requested only when you choose to take a photo in the app. You can revoke it at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security. Your photo is analyzed on-device and is never uploaded.
Photos: when you pick an existing selfie, iOS shows you the system photo picker. Prismly receives only the one photo you choose; it does not request wide access to your photo library.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
